The full moon for June is commonly called the "Strawberry Moon" by various Native American tribes in the northeast and plains states, and marks the harvest time for early ripening fruits, including strawberries. Other tribes use different, yet similar names to mark the days of the summer solstice.
My new collection, Strawberry Moon, is a joyful entry to summer. The colors are all berry-related: the reds of strawberry, raspberry, red currant and cherry; the blues of blueberry and blackberry; the greens of their foliage plus gooseberry green; as well as sunshine yellow, brown and buff. The elements include bunches of the different kinds of berries, desserts made from them, bows, ribbons, florals and foliage.
